On August 14th, our fantastic Fitchburg Police Department hosted the annual Community Night Out. If you made it out, you know it was a blast! These events are so crucial for building those connections between residents and our local law enforcement. It's all about creating a safer, more united Fitchburg.
Balancing Growth and Tradition

Now, here's something big: At the City Council Meeting on August 27th, we approved the wording for a crucial referendum that you'll see on the November ballot. This is a game-changer, potentially increasing our property tax levy to fund some critical needs:
Boosting our police force with 5 new positions
Adding 6 firefighters to keep us all safer
Bringing on 3 key non-public safety roles
Keeping our Police Department facilities running smoothly
Improving our transit systems
And addressing other city needs, including better pay for our part-time firefighters
